Steps to reproduce the bug

Bring the player page up, hit the three dot menu, select the Equalizer option, tune the processing parameters

Expected behavior

The music should have audible filter impact

Actual behavior

Music remains unchanged

Screenshots/Screen recordings

No response

Logs

No response

ViTune version

1.1.1

What kind of build are you using?

Release (GitHub / F-Droid)

Android version

LineageOS 21 (Android 14)

Device info

Pixel 3

Upstream reproducibility

Upstream does not have the issue, equalizer works as expected

Additional information

The equalizer included in LineageOS is, like most Android equalizers, not entirely system-wide, and only applies effects to the apps that support it.

Checklist

  • I am able to reach YouTube Music through the official app/website and can confirm that I live in a supported country (and this country is not temporarily unavailable)
  • I am not using a proxy, VPN, device policy or anything else that restricts access to YouTube Music
  • This issue has not been submitted already (this is not a duplicate of another issue)

@cirnoe Please share some logs. Your ROM probably handles the equalizer differently from stock Android. (It works on my phone 🤷‍♂️)

I am not sure what logs would I include, ViTune simply does not request effects, while ViMusic does.

Hm, apparently also the built-in effects (in ViTune settings) do not work. But I see nothing useful in the logs…
Although there's "APM_AudioPolicyManager: unregisterEffect effect 2467 enabled" constantly appearing.
