Here is a link that I had found regarding downloading LCMAP ARD (analysis-ready data) and eventually CCDC (continuous change detection and classification) data (which we may be using in a CMS USA project). This is more of a placeholder/possible integration into gips if you feel it is feasible/worthwhile.

just to add a little more background- this data differ from the data we already download from USGS in the following ways:

  1. consistency across epochs in processing and between Landsat sensors (as they are all pre-processed and eventually classified (if user wants) by USGS)
  2. all tiles are on a certain WELD grid system, identified by a horizonal and vertical number (rather than WRS), so that the same scene from year to year will have the same UL coordinates
  3. eventually will have a couple different/ "new" indices: burned area (BA), dynamic surface water extent (DSWE), fractional snow covered area (fSCA)
  4. depending on the reviews, these data may become the new "standard" for Landsat, ensuring consistency among projects and users
