macOS Version(s) Used to Build

macOS 13 Ventura

Xcode Version(s)

Xcode 14

Description

Demo is slow to recognize chords in debug build. To reproduce just run and play a chord on your midi controller. Could switch the demo to release by default, or try to make it faster in debug.

I can confirm that chord identification/ranking is extremely slow in debug mode. Seems to work fine in release mode.

What can be done with this?

Use instruments to see where it's spending all the time (be sure to profile in debug). If that doesn't lead to speeding it up, just switch to release by default as I suggested above.
