[Bug]: Crash on trying to join chat

Describe the bug

The game crashes as soon as the button to join chat is pressed.
Tried multiple different 1.12.2 modpacks, with the same result.
Tried different versions of the mod, 2.4.5 and 2.4.4RC1 with the same result.
The error seems to be the same as in #581 but without all of the extra steps necessary to reproduce the crash.

Steps to reproduce

1. Press button.
2. Crash.

Expected behaviour

1. Press Button
2. Don't Crash

i have this exact issue - it seems to effect the latest minetogether versions now aswell - did this happen in earlier versions?
