My use-case is basically

  • when playing videos/movies, I don't want swayidle to kick in
  • when I listen to songs (via $application), swayidle can kick in because it's usually to have some background noise

I wrongly assumed that this is doable via --ignore-source-outputs, but I apparently mixed up the sink-input/source-output term here.

My question is basically, would you be open to accepting such a patch @ErikReider?
