Checklist

  • I made sure that there are no existing issues - open or closed - to which I could contribute my information.
  • I made sure that there are no existing discussions - open or closed - to which I could contribute my information.
  • I have read the FAQs inside the app (Menu -> About -> FAQs), in the README and my problem isn't listed.
  • I have taken the time to fill in all the required details. I understand that the bug report may get dismissed otherwise.
  • This issue contains only one feature request.
  • I optionally donated to support the Fossify mission.

Which apps should have this feature?

Calendar, Clock, Contacts, File Manager, Gallery, Messages, Music Player, Notes, PDF Viewer, Voice Recorder

Feature description

As FossifyOrg/Gallery#22 (comment) somewhat explains, duplication, moving, and deletion functions do not provide progress reporting in their dialogs.

Why do you want this feature?

To be able to not solely ascertain the progress of an action, but more importantly, whether it has stalled. This is especially important when working on network storage via the File Manager or deleting external resources via the Calendar, but also affects Messages too when enough IO requests are in the SIM card buffer.
