Issue

The BICEPS standard provides for content that is helpful for biomedical device management processes; however, there is no clear requirement for implementation of the information being provided by products. Having a biomedical support dataset defined will help ensure that this content is available for device management and maintenance activities and will help engage this important part of the hospital stakeholder community.

Note: Sometimes this is called "Fleet Management" support.

Proposed Change

Add a dataset specification to TF-3 for Biomedical Support. This may be an optional dataset identified for the SDPi-P CONTENT CREATOR in TF-1.

SDPi Friday 2024.07.05 Review:

  1. Would this include onboarding / provisioning of the device?
  2. What exactly would be the core of this data set (from the BICEPS) spec?
  3. Mandatory elements + optional / extensions?
