Tracking issue for v0.8.1

Basically, I'd like to use v0.8.1 to do some smaller changes like CI improvements, doc cleanup and splitting up modules.

We need to figure out the order in which we merge the PRs (#22, #31, #37). Thoughts @shymega?

Sounds good to me. I've updated the changelog and released v0.8.1 with those changes!
