User Functions for Projects and Components

Projects

The User has many functions for projects in sw360. A few of them get explained it the following paragraphs.

Generate Licenses Info

The function for generate the readme for the Project with all of the licenses information included can be find under 'Linked Releases and Projects' at the left corner at the bottom of the page. The user gets redirected to a site where he can choose for each component with xml should be used for the building of the licenses information. At the bottom he can select between the file formats TEXT, XHTML and DOCX. The user can modify the 'License Info Header' under 'Administration' in a project.

Generate Source Code Bundle

The User can find this function next to Generate License Info. He can choose here as well which source he want to use for the release if more than one were uploaded.

Export Spread Sheet

The User has the option to export the information from 'Linked Releases and Projects', 'Clearing Status' and 'ECC Status' as a spread sheet.

Vulnerabilities

If the Security Vulnerability Monitoring is activated the User can find under Vulnerabilities in a project the existing vulnerabilities for the release that are used in the project. The User can rate these vulnerabilities with the ratings: 'Not Checked', 'Irrelevant', 'Resolved' and 'Applicable'.

Components and Releases

Merge of Components

The Admin of sw360 has the ability to Merge a Component. Therefore he goes on a component and find at the upper left corner a button with the label merge. If the Admin click on this he get redirected to merge view. First he needs to choose a second source. Then he needs to Merge the Data here he can decide with data should be use for the future. At the end he can check the merge and confirm it.

Linked Releases

The user can add dependencies for a release under Linked Releases in the release view. Therefore he click on edit in the upper left-hand corner and choose at the navigation bar 'Linked Releases'. Users who want to use the same Release do not need to search for the dependencies as their are already linked to the release.
