How would I add a favicon to my config?

Could someone talk a noob through adding a favicon, Here is my config:

Do you mean use favicon for item icons, or set Dasy's favicon?

To use a app's favicon as it's icon, just set icon: favicon.
There's some more options if that doesn't work first time, which are in Docs → Icons → Favicon

Or if you meant how to set Dashy's favicon, you can just bind your pic to /app/public/favicon.ico, see this comment

I have done as instructed here, but it still doesn't show a favicon for the page. has anything about this changed or what troubleshooting steps could I take?

Heya @Dart2112
If you visit http://[your-dash]/favicon.ico or open the dev tools, head to the Application tab. Do you see an icon?
If yes, then it's likely the browser is caching your old / no icon.
If no, then try binding an icon within the /public directory.

The icon is at that path, but dev tools complain about the downloaded icon being empty or corrupted

The image is loaded fine by chrome (when I visit DOMAIN/favicon.ico) on the page and as an icon when I directly access it.

Edit: the paths provided to firefox for icons are in this folder "./img/icons/"
These images do not exist at that path

Edit 2: Placing the images at that path has fixed the issue. I simply uploaded all the images from favicon.io to /public/img/icons

Sorry, should have been more clear, just need Dashy's favicon to show, as the lack of one is triggering my ODC in the bookmark bar.

And I'm using Portainer.
