I have the impression this is the right repo to discuss this. I got freshly introduced to neurodatawithoutborders and was quite surprised to see no reference to "metadata" here.
Are there any initiative to build metadata standard for experiments with mice here ? I would be happy to share my experience and work toward a metadata standard here (as a researcher enthusiastic about PUID for transgenic animals) if there is such an interest. (see reagents.io)

Meanwhile, if there is some specific information you would like to put into an NWB file I can help you figure out where it would fit in the core schema or if necessary I can help you write an extension. In your experience with transgentic animals and reagents, what are the key pieces of meta-data that you think should do in NWB files?
