Thanks for the message and interest in FastQ Screen. My idea is that by creating a Docker image, users can then simply create a Singularity image from that (see https://singularity.lbl.gov/docs-docker).
Please let me know what you think, or if you see any problems with that.
That's right, that would work too.
I was just struggling to create one myself with the GD Perl library (which seems to be necessary for some plots according to a message by FastQ Screen). Some dependencies just won't install without errors.

Ah yes. I seem to remember you may need to install GD libraries on your operating system in such instances. If you Google this you should get some advice on this. Please let me know how you get on with the container. Does it work for everything else i.e. is it just the images that are not generated?
