We should rewrite this docstring. Right now, it is addressing other developers, but we should let the user know, how the data should look like. Maybe @AlexDo1 we discuss this together, as this will be the interface for the user.
Depending on the input to this function, different upload strategies should be realized (we discussed upload to one table, upload to a file, upload to an extra table etc.)
