Cleartext HTTP traffic to LAN address not permitted #121

Describe the bug

I do not expose my funkwhale instance to the public (it's only on my local network). When I try to log in using the local ip address or the .local hostname, it fails. It seems like this problem was supposed to be resolved by issue #6 but it doesn't work for me. Same error occurs whether or not a self-signed certificate is used (via Caddy) on the machine running the funkwhale instance.

How to reproduce

  1. Place LAN address on hostname (tried both http://10.0.x.x address and the .local hostname)
  2. Check "Allow cleartext traffic (HTTP)" box
  3. Error saying "Cleartext HTTP traffic to not permitted"

Expected behavior

Successful login

Environment details

  • Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 9
  • Android version: 10
  • App version: 1.0.21
  • If public Funkwhale instance, its URL:

seems like the same problem as #117
