I'd like to create a thickjail but running into problems.

This doc says that thickjail is default when executing "create" command without parameters, but it seems the actual default behavior is a basejail.
I also note that there is parameter for specifying a thickjail.
Finally the man page says,
Please use thick (deprecated) [-t]
So I'm just curious if thickjails can still be created, and if so how.
