SV06 plus getting stepper driver heat warnings #184
-
I just klipperized my 2 week old SV06 Plus yesterday and starting with the PID bed test I began receiving driver stepper warning errors (I just cleared them and can't remember the full name of the error OPWT or something) that say they will shut down if they get any hotter and to check my stepper voltage/cooling settings. This happened again while attempting first print post-Klipper (failed for another unrelated and uninteresting reason). So far it's just a warning and they haven't actually shut down, but it seems strange. The temps are the same I used before Klipper. How should I proceed? I am going to replace the board with the SKR 3 EZ and EZ2209 drivers soon but still would like to resolve this in the meantime. Thanks for any insight anyone has! |

I received the same warning some months back, and another user reported the same. I didn't do anything, except maybe update Klipper, and the warnings no longer show up. My current settings are taken from Sovol's Marlin firmware, feel free to tweak. And from what I remember, Sovol Klipper screen currents are even higher. |

Thanks, that tracks with what I was thinking. When I first got the error I looked at all the printer.cfg files I could find online, one of which being the Sovol Klipper one, you are correct theirs has it set considerably higher than yours; I believe their x stepper is set at 1.20 or so and yours at .88 if I recall. What's even odder and makes me think it is a bug is the warning happens almost immediately before the motors are really even being taxed. The warnings then seem to come and go randomly. I used a laser thermometer and both x and y motors were hovering around 48c, not exactly setting the world on fire.
