It is supposed to run inside of a VM, it probably cant run on anything else.

Why not? It can be ran directly -> just using image flashed on cd-rom. It probably can also run if is flashed using dd mode using rufus. There were few people who actually ran the TempleOS on real hardware.

Dell power edge t100 - PC beeper works has Keyboard and mouse PS/2 Emulation so USB can be used
supports vga

Dell OptiPlex machines seem to boot it as well but you need a PS/2 Mouse
the keyboard works though
