Very interested in helping to update and contribute to this project and wondering if anyone has the contact information for @corrad1nho so I can get in touch possibly. Didn't see any contact information in the repo metadata or https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:corrad1nho

Worst case if we can't reach the author is anyone interested in teaming up who knows what the all the current issues are if i fork this so it can be updated and maintained?

@keerl @RealOrangeOne @precla @zx2c4

I have a pretty good amount of experience in PyQt5 which is what this app is using and would love to be able to help out so this amazing tool stays alive vs slowly dying as things get too far behind.

Regards,
Mike

Please, don't do this.

Opening an issue against a seemingly-inactive repo asking for its status and gauging interest, by all means. But tagging everyone who's ever contributed to it is just extra noise.

See also #140

Opening an issue is reaching out.

I'd say fork it, start maintaining it, and if people are interested, they'll move too.

Please do, it is sorely needed. I'm wary of upgrading to ubuntu 20 because qomui has issues with it. Packaging and testing for the newer os would be the first and "easiest" place to start.

Yes that would be great. Can't get it running on arch.

Hi, @cocoonkid I install on Arch from AUR in Bauh and it works OK but cannot install on Ubuntu 21.04.

PLEASE do.
I'll be glad to test. Seriously, a GUI for VPN is strongly needed. I understand that "if you switch to linux you should know how to use the terminal" but hey it's 2021, the world goes on, and a GUI is way easier and practical. And the default network manager is terrible and lacks of many features.

Mike, if you go ahead, you've my support as a tester and I'll be glad to tip you, too!

I use Wiregui.

Recently started a new job so haven't had a lot of time yet to tinker with this as I would have liked. The good thing is that Pyqt6 (Qt 6.2 LTS) is out so we now have a good reason to port stuff without worrying about it getting immediately outdated.

One of the things I really would like to add is Softethervpn support since no Linux softethervpn GUI exists unless I missed one.

I was in touch with the author of this project and he will think about giving someone collaborator rights or transfer it to someone else. But not 100% sure yet.
If you don't want to wait, you can always fork :)

Not in a hurry at all, but would love to be able to collaborate on this in future if possible. Thanks for letting me know.

Its very broken now on arch. I had to rebuild for python 3.10 and the UI doesn't show up.

I manually had to edit plotter.py in site packages and put int() around arguments of drawline in lines 48 and 55.

What's the status on this? Is this project being forked or is it being assigned a new maintainer?
