Feature Request: Make the URL trick compatible with Gitlab

It seems as though Gitlab is not compatible despite being a hub for git repositories.

So currently the code doesn't handle the "url trick" since I kind of need to know where you're coming from
There's only two ways I could go around this:

• Find a semi-reliable way to get the "referer" url
• Test a list of common github alternatives, but that would mean deciding for each new entry in the list

Have you tried copy/pasting the url in the form yourself?
