I'm attempting to upload a new emoji to my server, and it's an animated webp file. I downloaded it from another emoji that was used by someone, so it's directly from Discord's servers, but whenever I attempt to upload it, it stops being animated. I found #159 with a quick google search, and it seems to be similar just with emojis instead of uploading the raw file.
I recorded a short video to show exactly what I'm doing:

@CammiePone thanks for creating this issue! We currently do no support animated WebP emoji uploads, which is why it shows as a static non-animated image. I know, seems kinda silly since the latest Discord app is requesting animated WebP emojis. The reason for this limitation is that older Discord clients are still requesting animated GIF emojis, and we don't have a mechanism for converting animated WebP -> animated GIF, so we have to limit emoji uploads to GIFs for now.
I'll keep this issue open as a request to support animated WebP -> GIF conversions. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, and will keep this issue updated with any progress. Thanks!
wasnt sure if it was a bug or not, so i decided to make the issue report just to be safe
