This app has a massive memory leak using the temporary queue over a period of time. It's not a version or who builds it issue. Every build has it. IDK if this is Google sabotage. The app will eat memory until it hits 1GB, then start lagging out, then at a certain point past that it will crash. Some videos may be worse, potentially live streams, but it happens no matter what. Then you lose your queue after it crashes, and it seems to forget your history when it goes bad too.
There are also annoying defaults from a fresh install. The remind me to take a break is always on, and even if smart downloads is off, something happens and it will enable itself and start downloading videos. This will stop after you manually disable it, but it happens every single time off a clean install. A lot of the defaults are rather annoying as well, disabling things like Chromecast buttons. The app also doesn't play movies, likely an issue with drm.
A lot of people work on this app, but it seems like nobody bug tests or does QA. IDK who should be notified of the memory leak, and if anyone cares. Probably not since it's existed forever and nothing gets fixed. Perhaps it can't be fixed. But I think more aggressive garbage collection could help address it, if that was added.
I also don't know what's up with micro g services not getting an update, and any relation to current issues. MicroG RE seems to be getting updates, but IDK if it actually works with the modem builds. You're supposedly supposed to use that 3.1.4 build, which hasn't been updated, while RE is on version 5.9. What's going on here? Is it safe to switch?
That Mega build xda guy also has been sticking to 19.16.39. There's no progress. It's like development stopped months ago on the main version, while the alternative builds are getting updated. What is this? Are they waiting for Google to disconnect service to old versions like the original build did? IDK what's going on and if anyone's doing anything.
