Have you considered using Weblate (https://github.com/WeblateOrg/weblate) for your translation management?
I introduced it at work over a year ago and we are very happy with it.
There is a free hosted Weblate (https://hosted.weblate.org/) available for open source projects. I could help you to get up and running.

The evcc-io .toml files are currently identical to .ini files and Weblate supports .ini format out of the box. I tested it on our Weblate instance.
The only problem that I have encountered is that Weblate returns the translations with mixed line endings. It converts some CRLF to LF, probably because the tool chain runs on linux. This would mean that either the line endings have to be fixed before committing or that the .toml files should be converted to unix linebreak style, because Weblate keeps this intact.

You can set up nice automated translation workflows using Weblate and GitHub. :)

Übersetzt wird definitiv weiterhin von Menschen. Weblate macht nur Vorschläge. Wenn du z.B. in der Quellsprache ein fehlendes Komma ergänzt hast, wird Weblate in allen Zielsprachen dieses String als "muss geprüft werden" markieren, die alte Übersetzung vorschlagen und die Änderung in der Quellsprache als Diff anzeigen. Das sieht dann z.B. so aus:

und der Übersetzer muss nur noch bestätigen.
So einfache Dinge ziehe ich dann meistens selber durch, auch wenn ich kein Wort Chinesisch oder Koreanisch spreche ;)

@luebbe Würdest du ggf. bei der Weblate-Einrichtung unterstützen können?
Für mich ist das Thema Übersetzungs-Workflows und dieser Dienst noch völliges Neuland aber ich kann zumindest den Weblate-Mehrwert schon erkennen.

@premultiply klar mache ich das. Wie gesagt, sollte einer von Euch bei Hosted Weblate den Hut aufhaben und für evcc das freie Hosting beantragen. Dann kann derjenige mich zum Projekt einladen und ich kann die ersten Schritte mit der Einrichtung vornehmen. Damit macht man noch nichts kaputt. Das Weblate Projekt kann jederzeit neu aufgesetzt werden.

Vorher solltet ihr prüfen, ob evcc damit klarkommt, wenn die Übersetzungsdateien gemischte(*1) ("defekt") oder LF (Unix) Zeilenenden haben.

• Wenn das ein Problem ist, muss vor dem Einchecken einmal unix2dos laufen, um die Zeilenenden geradezuziehen. Dann wäre die Interaktion mit Weblate manuell oder halbautomatisch (Weblate bedient sich beim Repo, macht aber keine PRs)
• Wenn sauberes LF kein Problem ist, würde ich vor dem Upload einmal dos2unix laufen lassen, damit alles von Weblate konsistent als LF zurückkommt. Dann wäre die Interaktion mit Weblate vollautomatisch möglich (Weblate bedient sich beim Repo, und macht PRs für geänderte Übersetzungen).
• Wenn Mischmasch kein Problem ist, könnten wir direkt loslegen. Vollautomatik ist möglich.

(*1) Das mit den gemischen Linebreaks ist ein Problem von Weblate, wenn Dateien mit CRLF (Windows) hochgeladen werden (Siehe WeblateOrg/weblate#5695) Dort geht es zwar um das .po Format, es sind jedoch alle Übersetzungsdateien betroffen).

@luebbe Darf ich dich mal fragen, da du dich bei Weblate wohl auskennst, ob es da eine Möglichkeit gibt bei den Übersetzungen eine Art Erinnerungsfunktion zu setzen die einen benachrichtigt sobald sich etwas in der Basissprache geändert hat?

So könnten die einzelnen Übersetzer sich dann immer zeitnah um die jeweilige Sprache kümmern ohne regelmäßig schauen zu müssen ob sich etwas geändert hat.

Die restlichen Wochentage stehen aktuell nur in deutsch da. Ich habe auch schon in Hosted Weblate gesucht aber es gibt wohl die notwendigen Punkte derzeit noch nicht zum Übersetzen. Sehe ich das richtig? Und könnte man das noch anpassen?

Moin Leute!

Ihr habt da ein schönes Proyekt am Laufen! Da ich in naher Zukunft eine Wallbox installieren werde und hoffentlich bald mein erstes Elektroauto geliefert wird, wollte ich mich mal schlau machen, ob mir das System helfen würde.

Ich habe gesehen, dass ich zumindest bei den Übersetzungen als gebürtiger deutsch/spanier beitragen kann (das kompilieren klappt leider noch nicht, konnte das ganze also noch nicht testen, wie es denn dann aussieht).

I finished the Greek translation on Weblate.
I suppose i have to wait for next package release to check how well are the UI with my translation? For better proofing purpose.
I hope i get a token so i can stick with it, evcc looks like a brilliant project but i don't have battery or panels right now, i can only test charger and car connection.
