Hi @teixeirak,

I'm making progress on adding data use and attribution sections to each of the climate data sources, and I wanted to ask you about Met Station data.

Should we copy a more generalized attribution, like is currently the case for HKK?

Or should I aim to stick with the more formal data citation? If so, my approach would be:

  • data contacts, as listed in directory metadata sheet, as authors
  • data title/version as file name?
  • ForestGEO Climate Data Portal as repository name.
  • no DOI.

What's your preference?

Take care,
Caly

Sorry for the slow reply! Somehow this one slipped past me. I did end up giving some guidance on this under issue #28.

For now, I'd have to say just cite the repo. Also, let's put a note saying "Please contact site PIs for names of researchers who should be credited for these data." I don't currently have that list for all the sites.

No worries, @teixeirak, and thanks for this guidance! I will add the language that you shared here, and I can add PI names/e-mail addresses for the relevant site to facilitate that first level of communication.
