Suggested format: Pipe-delimited text

Required tables:

  • header_table
  • observation_table
  • station_configuration
  • source_configuration

Optional tables:

  • profile_configuration
  • sensor_configuration

@DavidBerryNOC: here is the plan that @watucker is going to work on regarding creating templates to help users provide data/metadata. Please advise on the full list of Required tables and Optional tables.

The list of required vs optional tables above is correct. The tables linked by the header_table and observation_table with a many to one relationship in Figure 1 of the CDM document are the required ones - the others are optional (with the links going the other way).

Pipe or tab delimited files are good - comma and colon / semi-colon may cause issues with some of the data to be entered.
