This looks very similar to what has already been done by https://github.com/hetio/hetionet. Would you please add documentation explaining how this is different? Did you try using hetionet for this task, since it is nominally set up for drug repositioning?

Since it looks like some edges are ingested from hetionet, what added value does this add?

Hi Charles,

We are actually using Hetionet in DRKG but we have roughly doubled the number of entities and number edges over Hetionet. Regarding the additional benefit of the new information, we are in the process of finishing a paper on that. There was a measurable improvement when adding the information from GNBR. We will link the paper once it becomes available.
