Proposal Details

Hello! How are you?

I would like to make a proposal that, for me, in my view, is something very interesting (but I don't know if it will be valid for you)

Since last year (February) I have been studying Java assiduously. I found the language difficult, even though I previously had a great desire to learn about it. Curiosity got the best of me and I went back to find out where I could learn, individually, about Java. I never did well with courses or colleges, but I always did well learning on my own. I live in Brazil and, therefore, knowledge is paid for here, with free knowledge coming from abroad.

I see great value in this platform! Having a didactic and simple way of explaining big problems! As a result of my gratitude, I would really like to contribute to dev.java in any way that I can and that can help people from my country to better understand everything on the platform, without having to use translators that often translate several things wrong. ... I say this citing Google translator which, even though it's a tool from a giant like Google, still doesn't do a perfect job.

My proposal is to translate, at least the session that involves knowledge of the Java language, into the pt_BR language and I would like to know if you would think this is a cool idea...

I'm currently working on a Java project that a client asked me to do, so I'm a little short on time. But even without time, I am a very hardworking person who does my best to deserve everything and I honor all my commitments! So I can say that, in moments of relaxation, I could translate a platform that taught me a lot as a hobby, a pastime.

I've never contributed to a repository on github before (I'm somewhat new to it, in terms of knowing how to use this tool effectively). I also don't know English as well as I would like, but I could, with the help of the translator, translate the sentences and organize them perfectly (or almost lol)

It would be a chance for me to contribute something that changed my life and at the same time, I would feel honored to contribute something great!

I also see this as a new opportunity to learn new tools and see new horizons, how to use web development for this task <3

I await your response and, if what I proposed is not advantageous, then there is no problem :). Maybe it's not the right time for big opportunities like this

Author References

I have some public repositories here on github that are not so famous or well-known, they are repositories that I created to learn how to use github and also to post all my progress, from the beginning to the most recent days with java. I don't know if this counts as something interesting lol, since it's a personal thing, without much professional use

I have never contributed to a project before, but I would really like to, as it would be a huge satisfaction to see that my name is part of something done by someone else. I'm not just talking about gigantic projects, but even smaller ones, just to feel good and raise my self-esteem <3
But I don't really know how the community here at GH works, if they act strange when someone unknown provides an improvement or interesting tools in their test or small projects, just like course or college projects... So I'm a little afraid of contribute.

While I do think translations would be useful, I fear maintaining translations for all articles (especially when articles are edited or new articles are added) will be a lot of work.

Thank you for the proposal! We've discussed translations and continue to conclude (as @danthe1st has) that maintaining them would be more effort than we have time. We can certainly revisit down the road!
