It would be very interesting if content related to JDBC/JPA and also about Networks were added to the "mastering the api" section.

While I agree that adding an introduction to JDBC would be useful, this would depend on external libraries/a database.

On the other hand, JPA isn't really something about Java itself and I think this site should be focused on Java. However, feel free to create JPA tutorials anywhere else.
