Close Dialog Programmatically - from outside dialog

If I use Get.dialog to show a progress during a long operation (maybe with a progress indicator and percentage), how can I close/dismiss the dialog when the operation completes? It doesn't seem as Get.back() is appropriate here. The dialog is just a message box, there are no buttons.
