Option to store Factorio versions in user config

I moved the factorio.versions settings element into my user VS Code config in an attempt to reduce the amount of machine-specific stuff in my workspace settings (and because I use the same game versions across all mods I work on). But when adding or changing the Factorio version in use, the extension copies everything back into the workspace settings file.

Can an option be added to make the extension use the user settings for specifically the Factorio versions?
