Steering Onboarding

This document covers steps needed to onboard new Steering Committee
members and off-board emeritus members.

• All new members must complete the Inclusive Leadership Training within 30 days from the date of their appointment

• Update the following files in the respective repos:
  • kubernetes/steering: OWNERS_ALIASES and README.md — steering: Onboard/offboard members following 2024 election results #287
  • kubernetes/community: steering: Onboard/offboard members following 2024 election results community#8095
    • sigs.yaml (SC members and liaisons) and auto-generated content
    • Slack usergroup - communication/slack-config/usergroups.yaml, communication/slack-config/users.yaml
  • kubernetes/org: OWNERS_ALIASES and the `steering-committee — Update Steering members following 2024 election cycle org#5199
  • kubernetes/website: OWNERS_ALIASES — steering: Onboard/offboard members following 2024 election results website#48164
  • kubernetes/k8s.io - update [email protected] and [email protected] in groups/groups.yaml — steering: Onboard/offboard members following 2024 election results k8s.io#7386, steering: Onboard/offboard members following 2024 election results k8s.io#7387
• Add new members to the steering-private, steering-gb-rep-private and, slack channel and steering-cncf-rep-private remove emeritus members.
• Add new members to the CNCF Service Desk and remove emeritus members.
• Add new members to the cncf-kubernetes-maintainers mailing list.
• Add new members to the Public CNCF Maintainer List and remove emeritus members.
• Transfer Community Group liaison assignments from emeritus members to new members.
• If a Google Workspace top-level account is owned by an emeritus member, transfer it to an existing member
  • SC2 (Nabarun): @aojea
  • SC3 (Bob): @soltysh
• Reach out to SIG Contributor Experience to add new members to 1password and remove emeritus members.
• Set up a private meeting to go over backlog
• Update onboarding docs, if necessary
