Greetings and thanks for this project. I have read the docs but did not see any of the following mentioned.
We are planning an install of 2 EVSEs at a local medical clinic for employee, patient, and off-hours public use. We are targeting a grant that requires session data reporting to the grant maker, and so are shopping OCPP CSMS vendors to see if we can find a super low cost one to do the reporting and in the future enable billing the public for sessions. Plan B is 100% locally controlled and self-managed, which would require remembering to pull and sending the reports, or automate the sending of reports, either of which is doable but less than ideal.
We are also looking to the future where the EVSEs would be an important part of the energy management for the building. Therefore, if we did go with a third party OCPP CSMS, we would want either a local controller or a similar mechanism to reduce the amps offered by a single connector, or the group, or both. Ideally this would not require a round trip transaction to the CSMS to set the profiles for the local EVSEs, as the only internet provider for our small town does go offline periodically. I do see a way to do this via modbus on our preferred EVSE hardware, but would rather do it all via OCPP if possible.
So, does this project allow for "local controller" role/functions to intervene between the CSMS and the CP? If so, great, where is that documented (and sorry that I missed it)? If not, is there another similar project that does?
If I am way out in left field, or there is a more elegant way to accomplish the above, I am all ears. Thanks
