It would be useful to add a #column number and total file #byte offset to complement #line and #file

This might be problematic for encodings that permit multi-byte characters – should #column just count the number of bytes since the beginning of the line, or the number of characters? Are you aware of any other preprocessor that implements similar macros whose behaviour I could use as a precedent?
