No text on buttons / unusable app since 2.17.0

On 2.17.0 and 2.17.1:

Text is missing, causing app to be unusable. Reinstalling and removing data didn't change anything.
Cannot find anything interesting in Logcat.

My phone details:
OnePlus 9 Pro (StagOS ROM)
Android 12L
Kernel 5.4.191

@Juliet879 I can see, that this happens also on one another application. Looks like my particular API version could be affected, because on a separate phone with Android 14 everything works. All strings are missing (like every text was replaced by empty character ), on every "screen". It's hard to debug this from my side, since there is no errors in logcat visible.

@Leny1996 have tried this on Android 13 and all seems to be working as expected. Unfortunately am not able to replicate it

Looks like Mattermost Beta (2.18.0) fixes the issue. The question is what changed?

A lot changed in 2.18, mostly with the underlying framework. We upgraded all dependencies and one of then was react native

I need to reopen this. Looks like it was a false-positive (Beta is not having this Welcome presentation), on 2.18.0 it's still missing strings.
I just rechecked Beta, it's better but still missing messages.

Fixing eye strain resulted in unusable app, .17 and 18.1 in A12. I would say that is not worth.

Works for me again in 2.19.
I just don't like increasing size.

EDIT: works fetching channels, but not reading text, only names and links are visible.
