Tray icon won't show up in Wayland

I'm using your awesome plugin in rb 3.4.1-2 in debian, gnome 3.22 and wayland. The tray icon plugin is correctly enabled and loaded but no icon shows up in the tray, while, for example, dropbox and thunderbird icons do. Anyway, if I close rb window, it keeps on playing music in background and that's correct.
