Article list summaries -- help #7
Comments
I have the same problem here, I think it's because the version of kindlegen. But I don't know which version the author is using. |
@flyingfoxlee, @danchoi: in case it helps, the version i'm using is "Amazon.com kindlegen(Linux) V1.1 build 99" - I've had reports from various people that what this script does don't work in later versions of Kindlegen, I'm afraid. I'm also sorry that I don't have time at the moment to look into the problems in any depth. (Actually, it's not just time - also I'm lacking enthusiasm for working around issues in a closed source tool like kindlegen.) |
Yes, It's really disappointing since we don't know what's going on if it fails. |
@mhl Would you please the share the kindlegen with me? |
Hi again,
I've been looking at your code to get the article summaries to appear in the table of contents in the documents I'm generating with https://github.com/danchoi/kindlefodder
But I can't seem to crack it. I looked closely at your commit 40ca15b and the ncx and html files generated by guardian-for-kindle, but I can't see the figure it out what secret ingredient my documents are missing.
I also notice that when I generate a Guardian issue with your tool myself, the article summaries are missing. But the pregenerated copy I download from here does have the article summaries visible:

Any thoughts?
