Is it a bug?

  • I know this is an issue with the app, and contacting Mullvad support is not relevant.

I have checked if others have reported this already

  • I have checked the issue tracker to see if others have reported similar issues.

Current Behavior

After a reboot the VPN can't connect when IPv6 is enabled in vpn settings and wireguard ip version set to IPv6. The app tries to connect, the local ipv6 address flashes and then instantly disconnects. When i change the ip version in wireguard settings to IPv4 while that happens the connection gets established. If i then after a few minutes change to wireguard ip version back to IPv6 again everything works fine and keeps working until a reboot.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Reboot system with auto-connect, IPv6 enabled in vpn settings and wireguard ip version set to IPv6.
  2. After reboot the vpn won't connect.
  3. Change ip version in wireguard settings to IPv4 now the vpn will connect.
  4. Change ip version back to IPv6 after a few minutes. Now the VPN works over IPv6 and keeps working until reboot.
