So, I was on Google Play looking for an offline chatbot for my phone and I came across GPT4All, just to discover that it has absolutely nothing to do with this app. I love this app and fully support the project and I need to bring this to everyone's attention as not only is this misleading, but is illegal since the scumbags on Google are infringing on GPT4All's intellectual property rights, regardless of the open source license that is issued. In order to use any of the models in the app, you literally need to watch ads in order to "continue the conversation".

This app needs to be removed immediately to prevent people from being misled into thinking that it's the same app and company. You can find the app on Google here:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.principia_tech.ai.gpt4all

I wrote a review telling the developers to change the name of the app or I'm reporting it to Google and you guys.

I would need permission from the developers (You) in order to submit a takedown request on Google to have the app removed.

I seriously hate it when people steal other people's work and try to claim it as their own or profit from something that isn't theirs.

***My apologies. Despite being on Github for a while, I haven't had the time to figure everything out so if this is the wrong way to approach this in a bug report, my apologies in advance for my ignorance.

Thanks for flagging this.

I can't report it to Google unless I have your consent to act on your behalf. Without your permission, you'll have to do it on your own...unfortunately.

Other than possibly infringing on a "trademarked name" if it even has been trademarked (can't find it searching via UK's intellectual property office for GPT4all might be different for other regions) there are no issues with this seeing as the code "LICENSE.txt" file states complete unrestricted access/permission and freedom to do anything they want with no restrictions at all.
