Thanks. I'm big fan of Docker Swarm because of its simplicity so trying to do my part to keeping it alive and get some new features as after longtime it looks to be possible again.

If you want to hang out and share thoughts with swarm users, some of us are hanging out over at https://devops.fan in the #swarm channel.

@olljanat, I've been talking to my team, and we're quite happy to try and make this the clearing house for Swarm in the CSI ecosystem. Mostly that would mean trying to surface actionable:

  • Technical issues in SwarmKit itself, with good reproducers.
  • Actionable docs misses -- the docs were written for/with democratic-csi in mind, and we don't know what we don't know. Aggregating what is unclear, incorrect, misleading, etc into a backlog would be incredibly helpful.

Contributing to CSI plugins/evangelizing SwarmKit is probably out of scope, but I would like to put what engineering resources we have for SwarmKit CSI to work in the Moby project as much as we can.

We're a close-knit team managing over 100 stacks through Docker Swarm. We've chosen not to transition to Kubernetes due to its inherent complexities. We genuinely appreciate your continued support for Docker Swarm. Thank you!

@turric4n thanks and if anyway possible, please contribute to swarmkit. There is "enough" people working on moby/moby but any help you can give for moby/swarmkit would.

When it comes to K8s vs Swarm, you might want to look k2d and give 👍 for my proposal to utilize Swarm mode on it portainer/k2d#11 (comment)
