Yes, it will happen... Most tablets (Phones? Mini-tablets?) have some form of HDMI output which will require an adaptor to DVI, but this won't have any effect on signal quality.

The development for this branch has stalled due to the Developer Passing away. (see: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTI5MzA)

I recommend asking about this feature in any of the Following Doom 3 Forks...

Note: Most of these ports use Doom 3 BFG as the base.
