Heads up for changes coming to GitHub actions, as of tomorrow (Dec 5). Original post by @mx-psi:

Github will move ubuntu-latest to Ubuntu 24 and remove quite a few tools in the process starting this Thursday. There are a bunch of repos in the open-telemetry org that use this so if your workflows start failing this is the reason.

Of course, nothing might break, but I have a suspicion that something just might :).

As for the artifact-load related actions, we're already on v4.

As of 2024-12-05 16:30 ET, Ubuntu 22 is still being used, e.g. see: https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry.io/actions/runs/12188409051/job/34001345601?pr=5736

As of 2024-12-12, Ubuntu 22 is still being used:

ubuntu-latest pipelines will use ubuntu-24.04 soon. For more details, see actions/runner-images#10636
