tarballs and/or containers for transporting OSTree commits

I am working on adding OSTree repository management to Pulp (https://pulpproject.org). Pulp users mirror content from the internet or they upload content that they create.

I have limited experience with OSTree repositories. I have used osbuild in Fedora to build a Fedora IoT archive with a commit in it. So I was imagining that our users would do something similar and upload that archive into Pulp. Now I have learned that osbuild can produce containers also. So which format should we focus on for uploading OSTree content to Pulp?

Sorry for belated reply. I'm not an expert on the OSTree images produced by osbuild-composer, but AFAIK the container image just automatically serves the OSTree commit via HTTP when started. So it is probably just a different way of shipping the OSTree commit, which is easier to consume out of the box. @achilleas-k may have more insight, although it may be already too late for your needs as your question is from June...

yeah that's pretty much it. I don't think the container type will help makes it easier to deploy in an existing repository since it's essentially a contained web service that serves the commit.
