XFCE will also be using a nested compositor for its panel, and libwlembed implements a wle_embedding_v1 protocol for use by embedded programs. It would be useful for COSMIC and XFCE to support the same interface for out-of-process panel widgets.

Edit: I don’t know if XFCE’s implementation is in any released version.
