Hello, we wanted to give an update to the ecosystem in how we plan to prepare the Protected Audiences Services Monitoring for an environment in which some users choose to allow 3PCs, and other users do not, following our July 2024 announcement on a new path for Privacy Sandbox. For those not aware of the currently offered capabilities please take some time to take a look at our explainer to be caught up.
For traffic in which 3PCs are allowed there is no additional privacy risk from B&A sending un-noised metrics compared with 3PC-based debugging. Therefore we propose that when the user chooses to allow 3PCs in the current impression site, the client will send a signal to the appropriate servers to not noise the metrics that the explainer today specifies as “Noised” in our List of Metrics Section. This way it is possible to provide additional precision without compromising privacy
We welcome the ecosystem comments on this proposal!
