Quando o Vagrant inicia há uma fase de instalação do Chef, o que demora bastante. Na Amazon eu criei uma imagem de VM já com o Chef instalado. Assim quando vou testar a receita Chef, o Chef já está instalado e todo o processo não demora tanto. Seria bom fazer algo equivalente para o Vagrant. Não sei se o caminho é criar uma box nossa ou algo parecido.
