emacsclient does not open GUI

Hi,

I am reinstalling emacs on my mac. The installation worked fine, I can launch emacs with
/Applications/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs -args.
I can start a daemon with
/Applications/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs --daemon
(or fg-daemon).
However, if I navigate to a folder and do
emacsclient .
emacsclient opens a terminal frame and not a GUI one. How can I then open a GUI frame, connected to the server?

Sorry if this is a duplicate, I saw an old issue about this, but since I'm rather new to all of this, the post was very old and I didn't understand the answer, I thought of reposting.

same here, emacslient -c opens emacs in console instead of standalone gui app.
