VB Audio (Virtual Cable) & Lunchpad
This guide will show you how to play audio into a microphone using Launchpad and Virtual Audio Cable.
VAC creates a simple input/output device combo, which allows mixing audio played from Launchpad with your microphone.
Firstly, you'll need to install VAC which creates one virtual playback device, and one virtual recording device in your PC.
Download link can be found here.
Just follow the installation instructions, and you should end up with two new devices in your "Sound" control panel.
Once VAC is installed, you should see a new playback and recording device. What we're looking to achieve is the following:
To push your microphone audio into the CABLE Input, do the following:
- Go to properties of your microphone
- Tick the "Listen to this device" tickbox and select the "CABLE Input" as the playback device, then click "OK"
- Set the "CABLE Output" device as your default communications device
You can now add new buttons onto your Launchpad.
When choosing your Sound Output in Launchpad, select "Cable Input" as per screenshot below.
If you also want to hear the sound in your speakers/headphones, create a second "Play a sound" action with the same sound, and set your headphones as the Sound Output.
Make sure that the "Await execution of this action" is set to off, to make sure the sound plays simultaneously on your speakers/headphones, and into the microphone output.
