[BUG] Razer Blade 15 2022, Microphone works, but Speaker Audio L/R Flipped #5219
Comments
@gregory112 if L/R is always swapped then it could be codec configuration issue or PCB issue (as not seen in any other device). Windows is probably fixing via codec config or SW based swapping. @bardliao can you loop in Realtek to rule out codec. |
@gregory112 Can you share the output of |
@bardliao sure thing
|
I think there are some entries about Behringer, that one is a USB audio interface. Here is the output without the interface
|
This seems to be ongoing as I have this issue despite the original updated topology file for the Microphone being from 2 years ago! And L/R channels are flipped as well from the original ticket. The fix mentioned: thesofproject/sof#5989 (comment) has worked for the microphone however it would be good if this could work out of the box without any additional tweaking especially 2 years later. |
@callummarshall9 Are you saying the topology mentioned in thesofproject/sof#5989 (comment) can fix the speaker L/R flipped issue? |
Hi @bardliao , I’m afraid not. That only fixes the microphone not working for me. The topology still has the L/R flipped where I have to use fake sinks in pulse audio and helvum to redirect the output correctly. |
Describe the bug
This is the continuation of thesofproject/sof#5989 for Razer Blade 15 2022 and probably other Blade laptops as well. This model uses Intel gen 12th processor. The previous microphone bug has been fixed with the new sof topology, yet the speaker issue is not fixed.
Someone also described it in detail: https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-hardware-18/audio-issues-with-razer-blade-15-2022-a-4175708817/
As some people have mentioned, also in the post above, this might be a hardware issue. However, Windows does not have the same issue.
Headphones and mic do not have any issues.
Also it might be worth noting that this has THX Spatial Audio. In Windows the driver is Realtek Audio Codec with THX Spatial Audio. I do not know if this is a software or hardware implementation, there is no documentation anywhere. What about the others like Dolby or DTX audio?
As Windows does not have this issue, this might be a software problem. I wonder if it is possible to flip the channels (apart from using pulseaudio virtual sink).
To Reproduce
This is a persistent bug, the speaker is flipped persistently in Linux, but not in Windows.
