I have searched the existing issues and found none matching what I'm reporting.
Is the feature related to a problem or existing issue?
I just installed Ubuntu after years of not using it. One basic thing I could not do was search the available programs by Popularity. That left me searching the web and reviews to compare the available apps. So much time spent could have been easily saved. All I could search apps by was size and alphabetical order. It would be much better to also have the ability to figure out whats popular and downloaded a lot (has good word of mouth) vs what is not downloaded. I know an app not downloaded a lot doesn't necessarily mean its not good, it just might be new.
Describe the feature, why the feature matters to you, and what benefits the feature will bring about.

"Popularity" in terms of download numbers is not a metric that the snap store exposes publicly at the moment, so we can't access it in the app center either.
We are, however, working on adding charts that list the top rated snaps of a given category, see #1740.
Is there an existing issue for this?
