How to show only icons for running apps on taskbar?

Hello, let's say i have an app pinned in taskbar; while closed, i see just the icon. However, when i open it, i see the icon + a rectangular shapped button with its text label. This isn't default behavior : on both 7/8/10/11, you just see ONLY icon as stock setting. How do i revert this? Couldn't find option anywhere even though researched quite a lot..

Please show a picture of what you mean.

Please post windows version and build. You can find this by running winver.
Please post explorer patcher version.

Please include what settings you changed in explorer patcher properties application.

It's an ExplorerPatcher default to never combine and show labels

You misunderstand. When an app is open, the task bar is displaying the name of the file next to the icon in the task bar. I don't want it to display the name. Just the icon.
