Share Modpacks
    Export Modpacks
    Import Modpacks

ModMyFactory uses the .fmp and .fmpa file formats to share modpacks.
Files of these types will appear with a icon and a description of Factorio modpack in Windows Explorer.

Export Modpacks

You can export any amount of modpacks you crated into an .fmp or .fmpa file from within ModMyFactory.
To do so either click on the icon in the toolbar, select File -> Export modpacks from the menu or press Ctrl+E.

A list with all your modpacks will be shown. Here you can select all modpacks you want to export.
Note that if a selected modpack contains another modpack it will automatically be exported as well.

For each individual mod you also get a number of export choices that control the behaviour of ModMyFactory when importing the file:
From left to right these are:

  • Use newest version
Instructs ModMyFactory to download the newest available version.
  • Use installed version
Instructs ModMyFactory to download the version you have currently installed.
  • Use newest version for Factorio version
Instructs ModMyFactory to download the newest available version that targets the same Factorio version as your currently installed version.
  • Include in file
With this option enabled ModMyFactory will inlcude the mods ZIP file or folder in the exported file. Enabling this option forces exporting into an .fmpa file as .fmp files don't support included mod files.
This option can be used to avoid downloads on import, for example if an included mod is not available on the portal.
Enabling this option will automatically also enable Use installed version, however you can still manually choose a different option. If you do so ModMyFactory will check if there is a newer version available on import and if so download it, otherwise the included file will be used.

All of these options can also be found at the bottom of the window which can be used to apply them to all exported mods at once.

Disclaimer:
Sharing exported modpacks that have mod files included to the public is only possible if all of the included mods licenses allow it or you have permission from the mod authors.

Import Modpacks

To import an .fmp or .fmpa file into ModMyFactory click on the icon in the toolbar, select File -> Import modpacks from the menu or press Ctrl+I.
You can also import a modpack file directly from Windows Explorer by double-clicking it (ModMyFactory will launch if it is not running).
